[rs=2] | LIFE BEFORE DEATH: Born of the nymph Thetis and Peleus, king of the Myrmidons from birth Achilles was slightly off, stronger then most of the other children and made immortal by his mother who dipped him into the River Styx as some say. Others say she burnt away his mortality in a fire, but all agree there was one place left vulnerable, his heel. His father, for some reason or another gave the centaur Chiron the burden of rearing Achilles, one he did very well. Achilles learned how to kill from the centaur and excelled at it, becoming a ruthless killing machine. As soon as he’d reached manhood, he greeted his father and joined the Myrmidons with his cousin and companion, Patroclus, killing many famed warriors and carving a name out for himself throughout Greece. Peleus died when Achilles was twenty one, leaving him in charge of his father’s elite group of warriors. A year and another successful campaign later and Achilles was visited by Odysseus and told of the massive war that was to talk place at Troy, for Helen, the extraordinarily beautiful wife of Menalaus of Sparta. Immediately, Achilles consulted his mother learning that if he stayed, he would live a long life and bear many children, but his name would be forgotten, if he sailed to Troy, glory would be his at the price of his life and the next morning, the Myrmidons were sailing towards the walls of Troy. His name became infamous among the enemy, and they just about quaked when they saw the man charging at them, knowing their death would be coming soon. Achilles was a sight to see on the battlefield. Ruthless, quick, and agile he slaughtered many men and even the Trojan general, Prince Hector. Sure enough, just as his mother predicted, Achilles met his doom fighting, struck in the heel by an arrow shot by Hector’s brother Paris and guided by the God Apollo. LIFE AFTER DEATH: After death, Achilles was sent to the Elysian Fields. After all, he was both a hero and a favored of both Gods and Goddesses, some of which being Hera, Athena, and Ares. And even if he wasn’t favored by them many of the goddesses found him extremely attractive. Of course, going to the land of paradise meant Achilles lived out his after-life in relative peace and happiness even reuniting with his love, Briseis when she died later on. Ever since this fiasco started, he’s been trying to help the guards control the spirits as best as he can. PERSONALITY: Although arrogant, he can be very loyal to those he respects and trusts. He's determined, and very seldomly does he give up on anything. Achilles' temper is infamous but even so he can be rather kind in some cases. The man is a glory-seeker, and wants his name to live forever, even if he does not. Also he can be stubborn and is known to be a little conceited. He thinks himself better then most others, simply because he's favored by the gods. He usually only cares about himself, and could care less what over people think about him or what he does. Achilles has a love for fighting and for women. He has issues with commiting to just one and many have called him a womanizer because he seems to always be with a new woman. He's a good sweet talker and can weasel his way out of most situations. Fighting is also something he loves, it was something he excelled at when he was living, and still does as a soul. Something about the feel of metal slashing through flesh just comforts him. TRAITS:
